The Göteborgs-Emigranten Foundation is creating a database of all SAL Passengers leaving and arriving in Göteborg.
A new CD-ROM has been presented, and this one is of great interest to everybody with emigrants from Sweden during the time period 1869–1930. The CD is a joint project by Göteborgs-Emigranten, The Provincial Archives of Göteborg, The Swedish Emigrant Institute, Växjö, and the Emigrantregistret/Kinship House of Karlstad, and contains four different databases. Since the database includes arrivals to Sweden, even emigrants who left Sweden before the SAL era, and came back in 1915 or later, will be in the database - with information of their address in USA or Canada.
Ther are many immigrant records at the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center, Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. The New York Passenger Lists Quick Guide 1820-1957 lists research material for locating New York, New York passenger arrival records. Also, see the passenger list transcribes by the Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild. Resandemannen.se has this information about what you can find about SAL at the Regional Archives in Gothenburg:
